Music is a vital part of SNIPES' Hip-Hop identity. From major artist partnerships to various events, festivals and concerts - SNIPES has to be seen as a core part of that world. Our work intended on making good on that claim, and bring the heart of hip-hop into the stores. The SNIPES Soundbooth is an innovative and bespoke recording experience in various retail stores and brand activations for SNIPES, globally.


Making a recording studio from scratch is no easy feat - our strategy revolved around identifying our core experience in a retail environment, and really understanding our user's needs. From the outset, we aimed for an "arcade-mode" style feel - just enough tools to make good music, but we aren't here to record the next Meek Mill album.


We then aimed for a quick experience with a beats library, 2 options for voice recording and 2 cameras recording from different angles. The end product is a great recording and something to share with friends. We made it easy for all ages - scan a QR code to log-in, which also sends the final recording to the user's email.
The experience has been an incredible success, now available in 6 retail stores in 4 countries and 2 traveling pop-up activation exhibits that sponsor yearly festivals like Rolling Loud. Over 5,000 recordings have been made, encouraging retail visits and expanding in-store engagement.
