In collaboration with Meiré und Meiré, we created 2 anchor experiences with Telekom's exhibition space at IFA Berlin. With over 200,000 attendees expected, we were responsible for the digital and experiential aspects that would gamify the booth, engage visitors, and evangelize the capabilities of Telekom's 5G and "Magenta Eins" services.
With a short turnaround, we began production on both experiences - An Interactive Drone Race at the anchor point of the exhibition, and a physical/digital pinball machine. The overall art direction of the exhibition was carried out by Mieré und Meiré, so we crafted an experience to match the ethos of the space.
Both games needed to be standalone experiences, fun, and engaging - while also providing key branding information. Game mechanics and level design were all heavily influenced by the marketing materials of the Deutsche Telekom products.
Both experiences were made using Unity, and each had their own unique technical innovation. The Drone Race, on a 5 meter LED wall, was multiplayer - played by connecting your phone via web browser where the player could choose a drone and control using the phone's gyroscope. The Pinball machine had the lower screen, and was also connected to an upper LCD array for a bonus section. Each experience was full for the 3 day duration of the event.
